The new Shanghai Golden Grand Prix advertisement was launched on April 29th. It is set to play on television and on screens around town until the event itself on September 20th.
Our brief was to produce a high quality TVC (with different cuts at 60, 30, 10 and 5 seconds) following the theme of this year’s event: “Heroes of 2008”. The organizers wanted to focus on the Grand Prix’s potential to get more ordinary people involved in sport.
The advert tells the story of a race held in a traditional Shanghai shikumen (brick house) lane between four members of the community. We shot on super 16 film with the help of renowned cinematographer Lu Yuqing. The music is a traditional Irish jig.
